Okay, so, that never happened
This is embarrassing and unprofessional and I’m sure quite a terrible reflection on me but a little while ago, I posted an agonizingly long two-part piece which I have since taken down.
After I posted it, I read it again, and promptly came to hate it. Like, hated in the sense of being palpably uncomfortable with having published it. I think it sucks.
I know I can pull back the emails that have already reached inboxes but I’m just unhappy with the work and unhappy letting it stand as of good enough.
I’m sorry for this messy little head-fake.
If it is any consolation, whatever I put up instead will hopefully be better.

You are so hard on yourself. I read both parts, and they were enjoyable reads. It was a nice little historical story. Everything you write is very readable. My opinion is to leave it all up there. Sometimes you will dislike a piece you wrote immediately after publishing, but will come to appreciate it more after a little time has passed. You are able to write about a wide range of subjects, and that’s a good thing.
I think you might need to obtain a pre-reader. Someone, who isn't you, to read your missive before sending it out to us and they can tell you if it's shit or not. 😂 Oh, and I volunteer!!
