Rumor has it that your Apple pay issue has be fixed. This is according to an issue I opened to whine about it. "Brock (Substack, Inc)

Hey there,
Brock from Substack support here stepping in for Gavin. Thank you so much for your patience, we are currently experiencing higher than average ticket volume and our small team is working to get to everyone as soon as possible.
I did think this was funny, they asked me to complete a survey regarding their customer service prior to fixing or letting me know they fixed this issue. Substack has a ways to go. Hope everything is good on your end.
I was one of your Patreon supporter from years back, just switched over to signing up for a paid subscription on Substack (on a Mac, Safari browser) and used Apple Pay - fyi it all worked fine, other than I did have to verify that I was not a robot and it wouldn't go through until I had done that, which took a second attempt. I also tried to unsubscribe to your "free" Substack that I had signed up for with a different email, on Opera browser, and got repeated messages that say "Substack is experiencing technical problems. We are working to restore service. Thank you for your patience." Being charitable here re Substack, but maybe there are tech issues with certain browsers or something.
I subscribed with a yearly subscription within the first two days of your launch, via a credit card. However, I am curious if there is another platform to use, like Patreon? I'm going to guess you have researched other options to make a living at this. We will support your work.
Upgraded to Founding Supporter. Please do not falter - this could be happening to a lot of other writer's as well. Find their CEO's contact - and contact them directly. After all Substack is taking a cut of you earnings - not sure why they would want to reduce their own inflow.
I can’t manage mu subscriptions (any of them) from the app. But I went to the website and it accepted it. I think that have my information already. It would be great if one could do it from the app though.
Well I did it. I subscribed as a paid reader. I am retired so I don’t have much discretionary money to spend. But I know this is worth my money. I enjoy your posts and don’t enjoy anyone getting f _ _d by a Goliath.
Mike, I upgraded from free to Founding Supporter. I followed you on Twitter and really want you to succeed here on Substack. I love your writing! Please, keep going!
OK. Putting lawyer hat on. First, disclaimer. I don’t practice corporate/business law, but the No Circumvention paragraph seems super restrictive to me. It appears to say that you must use their payment system and can’t go outside of it. But what happens, as in your case, if it is not working correctly? Are you just stuck with no recourse? In any event, I strongly suggest you consult a lawyer about how exactly you are to be “made whole”. You may know someone who is experienced with this sort of case but, if not, one of the lawyers I follow on the bird site does corporate/business law and may be able to help you or refer you to someone who can. He is @AkivaCohen. Just changed our state law in a case involving cyberharassment of a game company’s employees. He’s in NY. Nice guy, ethical, and knows his shit, IMO. Anyway, FWIW. Hang in there!
FWIW I did not use ApplePay but went in from the PC and paid direct. There is a comment on here that someone was a paid subscriber and then the paid subscription stopped but they continued to get your newsletter presumably as a free subscription but didn't realize there had been a change. That's even MORE screwed up than glitching on the initial subscription type. @Hamish you need to check this event out as well as all the rejected subscriptions Mike has lost.

In any case, Courage!

Hey Mike, where are you doing One Good Thing these days? I’ve missed it the past few weeks.
It’s over on Threads.
And on IG and usually still also on Twitter.
Thank you so much!!!
Posts are still on Twitter too (I’m glad because I’m not on Threads - waiting for a web based option)

So sorry...so disheartening.
Just upgraded to Founding Supporter. Hope all this subscription nonsense works out for you. I look forward to your writing all the time.

Tried to use Apple Pay and couldn't, just now used the link you provided from my PC for an annual subscription.

Well, I also changed my sub to founding supporter. Mr. McKenzie, please do right by this gentleman.
Oh, Mike, I'm so sorry you are going through this. I will absolutely do what I can to help.
