Totally with you. I just came out of hiding to start sharing real things. 4 posts in and it’s the one thing I consistently love working on. Thanks for sharing yours.

Fellow member of the First Day group here. I could see the Hoarse talent a few years back and am really glad he’s taken this leap. Dude. You got this. lt’s a great ride and I’m happy I have the ticket 🙂

Is there a way for us to occasionally toss you a few bucks after a great read when we have a little extra in our pockets, or is a regular subscription the only option?

You could set up a Ko-Fi account to do this?

You often hear of people describing actors/actresses discovered at a young age and they say….”they just have it, that star quality”. I will say that as a life long book worm, reader and lover of libraries….you have “it” …you are a writer. I can start a book and within 10 pages know if I like the authors style. I liked yours within a first few paragraphs of your first piece here on sub stack. You probably get this all the time and are tired of it but here is an Idea for your first book…. Combine your fabulous nature photography with short essays. Each essay accompanied by a nature photo of your choosing….potential title….”Whispers in Nature”

So this happened: I’m new to Substack, and followed you from the “featured” post, assuming that you write about your experiences with horses. 😆

So I read your post and I’m stunned. I’m sitting in complete wonderment, blown away by how relatable it all Is, but know it’s not specifically detailed, which feels like I could tell you one of my experiences, and you would say the same thing had happened to you. You are an amazing writer. I know what I went through, and you helped make it not feel as bad, just by writing about your experience and feelings.

I had the best laugh when I realized there was no mention of a horse!

I will forever be a follower of yours, thanks to those horses! Thank you.

So, maybe Muskrat did you a favor by destroying twitter. On to bigger and better platforms for writing and photography. All the world's a stage.

Hi, I feel like I know you. I've followed you since the early days of DJT. We had a couple of short twitter conversations. I am amazed and pleased with your journey as you must be also. Forward!!

Another great piece. I always appreciate that everything comes straight from your heart. As I was reading this, the vision of a movie montage popped in my head. Shots of different, diverse people scrolling through their phones, reading this piece and feeling recognized and being grateful for what they read. I can totally see the whole scene. 😊

For new subscribers who have never read Hoarse, you are in for a ride. You will either laugh, cry, or both. He really has that ability to pull at your heartstrings, punch you in the gut, or seriously make you laugh out loud. If you are familiar with Stephen King, you know he has a way of writing about your worst fears or nightmares. Hoarse has a way of writing that has you thinking “Oh yeah, that happened to me,” or will have you choked up because he speaks from the heart when he writes about his relationship with his son. He has no problem laughing at himself which will have you chuckling. As a woman, I only wish more men could be as open, honest, kind, humble, witty, and generous as this fine man. Enjoy!!

Follow on Twitter as well. You saved the lives of thousands of us during the DJT years and I thank you again!

You are definitely a writer and have been for a few years now. Wishing you all the best!

Wish I could be a paying subscriber but cannnot, retired older adult limited income blah blah blah 😬🫣🤦🏻‍♀️🤣 but keep going, your day is coming!

Actually have you ever thought about publishing your Twitter feed (edited w notes added) - Life of a Normal Person Trying to Survive Under Trump, GOP etc - something like that, someone is going to do it 🙂

We’re tired of “political analysis” which is usually BS in 2023. I live reading about ppl who integrated their day to day, w politics, moments of joy, struggles. Real ppl

Thanks again!

A single bright light in a dark place triggers the thought "TRAIN!" You've given yourself a perfect Native American name- Two Trains. And so it shall be. 😌

Mike, I so admire your courage to be vulnerable with the hard stuff and not worry about being judged for expressing it. I'm still totally stuck in the fears of judgement and rejection. Seeing you write about it and get such great support gives me courage to express myself more. Thanks.
