This story is kind of the epitome of why you became one of my favorite follows. Not only your ability to tell a beautiful heartfelt story but the heart behind the story. You are a good egg.

And now my face is leaking. What a wonderful share.

Navigating ASD with two committed parents is hard in my experience.

My son, who is now almost 23, never asked for any gift for a birthday or Christmas until he was almost 12. He always said “I like everything you get me.”

Then he asked for an upright bass.

It’s the only time in almost 24 years of marriage that I purchased something so expensive without consulting my husband. He went on to be classically trained and was recruited to a college with a substantial scholarship. Year two of college had Covid creep in and he’s in a holding pattern. He’s back at home with us. He’s played his bass once that I’ve heard in the subsequent two plus years. I wept then also.

Happy holidays, Hoarse.
