I like the serials like The Hotel and The Diner. You are really good at describing characters I want to learn more about, even if they’re not real... and I like the dad stories. 👍🏼

I am here for ALL of it, in whatever form or presentation works best for you. I so appreciate your honesty and how thoughtful you are about the content you create. We are rooting for your success as a writer!

This helps me!

I had fallen behind on reading your entries in part because I wasn’t sure how much time & energy I had to give. I know substack indicates how long the “read” is but often, with your writing, it might have led to 2 or 3 other entries. Or it was content so emotional it cost the reader (me) a lot of introspection & energy. NONE OF THIS IS BAD! I want to read series, and I want to read pieces that make me think, I sincerely enjoy your writing. However, I do look forward to the idea of having more structure, not rigid structure, just some idea of what’s happening.

As others have said, I feel like there is a book in the making.

I cannot thank you enough for allowing us to join you on this journey. Selfishly, I will say your personal, descriptive writing has really helped me understand some things about myself/my thinking.

Simple. You write. I read. Love your tapestry of words

So I’m two Old Fashioneds in (is that right?) on a Friday night after a tough week, professionally and personally. Here’s what I’ve got: you’re sweet to organize your talent into what you think we’d like. And I’m happy that that will work for you; you need your mojo. Honestly though, I’m on Team Mike, whatever form or title you grant as you deem fit. I trust you and your talent; I will read it all. And I appreciate that the heavy fare (see what I did?) will be mostly on the weekends, when I have time and emotional capacity to go all in (and recover). Looking forward to more parking lot pondering.

Yes! Dim sum format! I will grab every dish when the cart lady passes by. Well, except chicken feet. Please don’t include those.

Well I’m a reader only, so the idea of writing is intimidating to me. It’s really interesting to see how your “writing “ mind is working. I look forward to following you on this journey.

Seems like a good mix that will provide a variety that's enjoyable and stimulating for both author and reader. Looking forward to it.

I’m definitely along for this ride! I hope to meet a lot of father-son and bar/diner characters along the way. You have a gift and I want to be right there in the front seat as it opens for you. And I definitely see a book (or ten) down the road. Let’s go!

Love the idea of a structure that works for you as a writer; having read failing etc. earlier this week I was (selfishly) worried for a second that we were going to lose you as a writer. So am obviously very happy to see that you’ve worked out how renovate the cave/Substack for your needs instead.

Really looking forward to watching this evolve and being along for the ride!

Congrats Mike, your plan sounds awesome!

I am amazed at the insights you give us in the workings of your brain - it feels so different from mine and yet I find myself nodding and coming back to think about your writing.

The various categories of writing you presented us with all circle around psychology in one way or another (behavioral and educational psych. come to my mind). Fingers crossed that this fascination of yours developes into a satisfying and sustaining book or other writing project for you.

Have a happy weekend, everybody. 😀
